This new piece came into being as a distraction whilst working on my second symphony (a work-in-progress). The name arose because of my use of the tuba (oom-pah) and the clarinet's introduction of the second theme. It made me think of a Tyrolean dance band.
Unlike my previous waltzes, which were composed for strings, this one is for a full orchestra.
